Instructions



A 48 bar strathspey for four couples



1-8 1st & 3rd couples dance half a petronella to chage sides (everyone joining hands on sideline for last setting)
9-12 All 4 couples dance half reels of 4 on the sidelines.
13-20 2nd & 4th couples dance half a petronella to chage sides (everyone joining hands on sideline for last setting)
21-24 All 4 couples dance half reels of 4 on the sidelines.
25-28 1st & 3rd couples face down, 2nd & 4th couples face up: all set Highland Schottische
29-32 All turn facing person both hands one and a half times to change places.
33-36 All set advancing, passing facing person left shoulder, then join hands and set on sidelines.
37-40 1st and 2nd couples dance half rights and lefts.
41-44 1st and 3rd couples dance half rights and lefts.
45-48 1st and 4th couples dance half rights and lefts.




This dance was devised by Helen McGinley in 1992.

Lady Ryder of Warsaw is the founder of the Sue Ryder Foundation, which has charity shops all over Britain and provides hospice care for terminally ill patients in Britain and Eastern Europe. I was a volunteer for the Foundation July - December 1992 and wrote the dance to raise money for the Light of Hope week.
