Music: Petronella's Visit to Dublin
A 4 x 48 bar jig for 4 couples in a square set
|1-4||1st & 3rd couples, giving right hands, turn three quarters. At the same time, 2nd & 4th couples dance a petronella turn and set.|
|5-8||2nd & 4th couples form arches as 1st man, followed by his partner, and 3rd man, followed by his partner, chase clockwise halfway round the set.|
|9-12||1st & 3rd couples dance a petronella turn and set. At the same time, 2nd & 4th couples, giving right hands, turn partners.|
|13-16||3rd & 1st couples form arches as 2nd man, followed by his partner, & 4th man, followed by his partner, chase clockwise halfway round the set. Finish 3,4,1,2 (1st & 3rd women still in the middle).|
|17-24||1st & 3rd couples dance a half reel of 4. 1st man, followed by his partner, & 3rd man, followed by his partner, chase clockwise to opposite sides. 1st couple finish in 3rd place and 3rd couple in 1st place.|
|25-32||All, giving right hand to corner, change places. Retaining right hands, all join left hands & set. Releasing right hands, all change places left hand with the next dancer. All join right hands with the next dancer and set.|
|33-40||All four women dance right hands across halfway then, giving left hands to partners, turn into promenade hold. All promenade clockwise halfway to finish one place on from original positions.|
|41-48||All dance eight hands round and back.|
Repeat from new positions.
